Why Send Your Kid to Acting Class in Baton Rouge?

We started our film acting school, Love Acting, to become a creative hub in the city of Baton Rouge. Children benefit from taking acting classes for all different reasons. They learn how to use all that bottled up creativity for fun storytelling exercises based on improv and scene work. Kids are full of creativity, and many times it goes overlooked because they have to sit at a desk all day and learn subjects like math and science that they often find boring. Kids need an outlet for their creativity. Acting provides a fun, upbeat outlet and helps them build confidence in themselves.

I feel that confidence is something that comes over time when we realize we are good at something. And when you are onstage doing an improv exercise, if someone laughs or thinks your scene is great, it really does build your confidence level. When we put the kids on camera and they get to see their little faces acting out emotions, it’s great for their confidence as well. Also, emotional intelligence is something that I do think can be taught through acting. Some kids are born with high levels of emotional intelligence and find acting to be a great way to connect the dots and connect with how emotions work in the world.

I have many parents that tell me they have a child who should explore acting as a hobby because they see something within their child that makes them think they’d be a great actor. Follow your hunch and do your kid a favor and get them into acting classes and see if they take to it.

Our acting class for children is Tuesdays from 4-5:30pm. To sign up, click here.
